The Inn at the Quay is a luxury hotel located on the riverfront of New Westminster. The lobby is recently renovated in a modern indigo palette with floor-to-ceiling windows and a cozy fireplace. Close to SkyTrain and adjacent to the newly re-designed Public Market, location is one of the main advantages of this venue.
Your guests can stroll along the peaceful boardwalk, browse the antique stores that line Front St, or even take a ride on the Paddle Wheeler Riverboat Tours. And if your wedding is planned for a Saturday, the hotel offers complimentary champagne from 3-5 pm in the lobby!
This venue offers a 2000 square foot ballroom that can seat 150 for a dinner reception with views of the Fraser River and a wrap-around balcony that leads to a large patio. You have the option of holding your ceremony at the Inn as well, either on the outdoor patio overlooking the river or inside the ballroom in case of poor weather. For a very reasonable rental fee the hotel will provide all tables, chairs, white linens, place settings, candles and a 15 x 18 foot dance floor. Your room booking begins in the early afternoon for a dinner reception, or you can reserve for the entire day if your ceremony will be held there as well, giving friends or a decorator plenty of time to The current wedding package also includes one night in the King Jacuzzi suite for the bride and groom and discounted room rates for wedding guests.
We've all been to at least one rubber-chicken dinner in a hotel ballroom, so let me assure you that food is not a concern with the Inn as the neighbouring Boathouse Restaurant provides all the catering! I had dinner there following my tour of the hotel and it did not disappoint. The Boathouse is a Vancouver institutition with a well-deserved reputation for excellent seafood and local wines. They offer both plated dinners and several buffet options for your wedding reception and the desserts sound amazing!
