The Paper Possibilities

While not as glamorous as the dress or as tasty as the cake, stationery is one of the most important elements of your wedding. From Save the Dates and invitations to ceremony programs, escort cards and menu cards, stationery sets the tone for your celebration and provides key information and directions to guests.

Stationery options are virtually endless and available along the entire spectrum of DIY: order your suite from a shop or website, customize a professional template and print your own invitations, or design and print everything yourself using graphic design software. I will graciously leave invitation creation to the professionals and plan to customize existing templates to create our Save the Dates and invites. Ceremony programs, escort cards, menu cards, favour labels and any signage at the reception will be designed by me and MS Office with a lot of help from online tutorials.

One of the best sites I came across is Vistaprint, a stationery company that ships internationally and offers everything from t-shirts, calendars and stickers to business cards and invitations. J and I took advantage of a recent sale to order 280 custom address labels for free! (we just paid a small amount for shipping). The labels arrived ahead of schedule and are great quality. I highly recommend Vistaprint and will be using their colour postcards for our Save the Dates (stay tuned for more on these).

Another online print company I love is MOO. They also offer business cards, labels, stickers and postcards plus mini cards, full colour double sided cards about half the size of standard business cards. Creative brides have used MOO cards as cute inserts in wedding invitation suites to give guests information about the wedding website or showcase engagement photos (like here). They could also be used as thank you cards or favour tags. And you can choose to have a different image printed on each card in your order, so the only limit is your imagination!
