Frocks has a comprehensive website that allows visitors to view many dress styles from designers such as Jenny Yoo, Alfred Sung and Dessy. Prices for short dresses begin anywhere from $170 to $300, with long styles costing up to $475.
FYI the store carries samples only, mostly in size 8 but some dresses were as small as size 4! If members of your bridal party wear larger than a size 10, they won't be able to try on anything. The store can order in larger sizes to to try on, but we're too close to the wedding date for that, and I'd never expect my bridesmaid to buy a dress she couldn't even try on beforehand.
This meant we could only look at dresses for my maid of honor K. We found 3 super cute dresses that were very reasonably priced around $200. All are available to order in black.
If your bride or other maids don't live in the same city, Frocks is a good choice because you're allowed to take pictures. Customer service wasn't terribly good as K had to ask for help zipping up every single dress and the staff were all over the place. When we visited there were two girls working and two clients with appointments, so there was no excuse for inattentive service.
Frocks also has a nice selection of sashes, jewellery, clutches and cute fascinators.
Frocks is definitely worth checking out as a relief from the tulle and sequins of traditional bridal stores. Even if you're not shopping for your wedding, you may find a special accessory or classic party dress.
