You might remember my very first DIY attempt: this simple and pretty
fabric flower. After much thought, the perfect project for these came to mind. Why not use them in a garland to decorate the head table? Our head table will be moderately large and a colourful garland that picks up the different blues we're using in the reception stationery can nicely showcase the big rectangle at the front of the room.
After a busy weekend afternoon...
I had these made. Only about 75 to go! Just kidding...I hope...
To turn these into a garland, simply string together with thread as explained in this
tutorial. You can pair two together to create flower "balls" for the garland or use single ones for a flatter look.
This garland is pretty versatile as far as garlands go :) Not sure yet if I want to swag it across the front of the table, or lay it on the surface. Either way is a cute addition to the reception decor. And you could make matching garlands, or change up the colours, to highlight your cake table too!
And I'm loving that it's a great alternative to bunting. Which people should be getting tired of any minute now. Please?!
Don't limit yourself to just garland with these flowers. Try making a pommander by gluing them to a styrofoam ball. Or sprinkle them on dining tables, around your guestbook table or along the bar. Or hang strings of vertical garland to make a creative backdrop for the ceremony or your photobooth. Or use them to line the aisle. The possibilities are endless!
