6 Month Countdown

Time has flown by and we are now about 6 months away from the wedding. That's a short 180 days, and a good time to review our progress with planning.

At this point, we have booked the ceremony (including officiant) and reception venues (including caterer), the photographer, the florist and the day-of-coordinator. My dress is safely waiting for me at the bridal salon. We've decided on the wedding party, guest favours, ceremony and reception decor, makeup artist, chair covers, bridal party attire and wedding bands. We completed our Save the Dates and mandatory pre-marital counselling. We're researching transportation, DJ and bakers. And we're slowly building our registry.

In the next couple of months we'll need to book transportation and a DJ, decide on a cake, purchase bridal party attire, plan our stationery, choose music for the ceremony and reception, book hair and makeup appointments, select gifts for the bridal party, purchase my shoes and jewellery and plan our honeymoon. Wow this is making me hyperventilate a little bit!

As for my DIY projects,

Veil: supplies purchased
Hair accessory to wear for the reception: done
Ceremony decorations: about 2/3 done
Votive holders (birch bark and lace-covered): cancelled
Fabric and crepe paper flowers: fabric flowers done, crepe paper flowers cancelled
Save the Date cards: done
Invitations: browsing through the 2 million possibilities...
Ceremony Programs: waiting for a complete stationery plan
Escort Cards: done except for printing
Menu Cards: stationery plan needed
Table Name Signs: see above
Custom monogram for stationery items: see above
Guestbook: no idea yet
Card box: ditto
Terrarium decorations: apothecary jars purchased for the florist to work with
Photobooth: cancelled for now
Corsages: transferred to the florist
Boutonnieres: transferred to the florist
Homemade favours: recipe chosen
Jewellery for the bridal party: under consideration
Cake topper: supplies purchased

Overall, I think we're right on track. My DIY projects are coming along nicely and I shouldn't have any trouble finishing them well before the wedding.
